Emails are a common way of communicating online, but if not configured properly, can be bombarded with spam.
Each Webshop can have a number of email address boxes, ie: a physical postbox where mail is sent. An email address can be an email box or an email address that forwards to an emailbox, eg:

1. fred.smith@..  Employee who works in the Sales Department
2. john.homes@.. Employee who works in the Sales Department
3. Sales@..        Sales Department email address
4. Accounts@..  Department

In this case, an emailbox would be created for Fred and John.  The sales@ email address could be forwarded to fred.smith@ and john.homes@. This allows Fred and John to have only one email address, yet receive sales enquiry emails.

Emailbox boxes can only be used by one person. Email forwarding allows more people to receive copies from that email address.

Our recommendation is never to publish email addresses on your webshop as email spammers ‘sniff’ email addresses and then add you to numerous mailing lists. All our Webshops have a Contact US page that hides the actual email address, but allows departmental email addresses to be used, eg: Sales, Accounts, Logisitics etc.
